Professor Rhona Flin – Professor of Industrial Psychology

Rhona Flin (PhD, FBPsS, FRSE, FRAeS, FRCSEd) is Professor of Industrial Psychology, Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University and Emeritus Professor of Applied Psychology, University of Aberdeen. She carries out research and consultancy projects on human performance in high risk industries, looking at leadership, culture, team skills and decision making in healthcare, aviation and the energy industries.

Her current work includes studies of non-technical skills in surgery and in the oil and gas sector, and managers’ safety leadership. Her books include Safety at the Sharp End: A Guide to Non-Technical Skills (2008, with O’Connor & Crichton) and Enhancing Surgical Performance: A Primer on Non-Technical Skills (2015, with Yule and Youngson).
