‘Human Factors and Safer Births’

An open seminar jointly organised by the Clinical Human Factors Group (CHFG) and West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) Patient Safety Collaborative

Date: Thursday 11th May 2017, 9.30am – 4.30pm

Venue: The Institute of Engineering and Technology, Austin Court, 80 Cambridge Street, Birmingham, B1 2NP

This one day event, the latest in our series of seminars, will provide an opportunity to focus on the challenges facing teams involved in the delivery of maternity services in response to Better Births and other national maternity & neonatal initiatives. It will explore how a human factors approach can support the reduction of preventable harm to mothers and babies and help develop resilient teams and organisations.

The day includes the opportunity to hear about approaches being taken in maternity across the country, as well as contribute to group discussion and networking.
