Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon, as well as the Associate Director of Medical Education at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
He is the National Clinical Lead for the Team Based Quality Review Programme (NHS Education Scotland), which aims to improve safety reviews and organisational learning in health and social care.
He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.
